Urea B N46

The most widely used nitrogen fertilizer, and the backbone of our fertilizer book. A white crystalline solid, highly soluble, releasing nitrogen slowly and steadily — which lifts yield while reducing runoff. Supplied bulk, prilled, granular and liquid.

Figures marked On confirmation are not published because they are not yet confirmed against a supplier data sheet. An analysis figure needs its test method stated alongside it — a number with no method behind it is not a specification.

03

Where the nitrogen
goes to work.

Three books take the tonnage: broadacre cereals, the high-demand industrial crops, and resin manufacture.

A/01

Broadacre cereals

Wheat, barley and rice at pre-plant and top-dress.

A/02

Sugar and cotton

High-nitrogen demand crops through the growing window.

A/03

Industrial resins

Urea-formaldehyde for panel and board adhesives.

04

Three origins,
one Caspian corridor.

Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, moving through the Caspian load ports and out via the Gulf.

Origin markets: Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan.

Load ports

The route out.

Cargo leaves the Caspian basin through four ports. Which one a lot moves on is a function of origin, congestion and the destination lane — it is agreed per shipment, not fixed.

Per-port draft, berth count and load rate are not published. A buyer sizes a vessel against a load rate, so publishing an unconfirmed one is worse than publishing nothing.

  1. P/01 TurkmenbashiTurkmenistan Caspian

Our principal Caspian outlet for Turkmen urea, sulphur and polypropylene.

  2. P/02 AktauKazakhstan Caspian

Rail-fed from the Kazakh interior; the alternative Caspian route when Turkmenbashi is congested.

  3. P/03 BakuAzerbaijan Caspian

Trans-Caspian transfer point onto the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars corridor.

  4. P/04 Jebel AliUAE Arabian Gulf

Our home port. Re-export, blending and consolidation under freezone customs.

05

The specification,
as far as it is confirmed.

One figure is published, because one figure is verified. The rest are held back until the supplier data sheet is in hand.

06

Five ways
it moves.

Bagged, boxed, tanked or in a full cargo — the mode follows the tonnage and the lane, not the other way round.

Break bulk

Bagged or palletised cargo loaded piece by piece. The default for big bags and 50 kg sacks where no container service serves the lane.

Containerised

20 ft and 40 ft boxes, bagged or lined for bulk. Preferred where schedule reliability matters more than freight rate.

ISO tank

Liquid chemicals in 20 ft tank containers. Dedicated or last-cargo-certified depending on the grade.

Big bag

One-tonne FIBCs, four-loop, with liner where the grade is hygroscopic. Handles on the same gear at both ends.

Bulk vessel

Handysize and supramax for full cargoes. Where tonnage justifies it this is the cheapest freight per tonne by a wide margin.

Terms

Incoterms 2020 — who bears what,
and where risk passes.

These are the published rules, not our terms — which is why this table can ship while the port figures cannot.

Documents

What travels
with the cargo.

Six documents. Which of them a shipment carries depends on the destination and the payment terms.

Title to the goods, issued on loading. Original or telex release as the payment terms require.
Attested by Dubai Chambers. Required for preferential duty and for most letters of credit.
Per shipment, against the agreed specification. Issued by the load-port inspector, not by us.
Lot numbers, bag or container counts, gross and net weights.
On CIF and DAP terms. Cover assigned to the buyer or the bank as agreed.
Where the destination requires it. Applies to fertilizer grades rather than to polymers or industrial chemicals.

07

Tell us the tonnage
and the destination.

Quote against a specification, an Incoterm and a load port and we can price it. If the specification is still open, say so — we will come back with what the origin can actually hold.
